Matti Jylhä appointed as Chief Business Officer at NeXec – Bringing business and IT together
As advanced information technologies increasingly drive business outcomes, the objectives of business leaders and CIOs become aligned.
Going forward, NeXec will expand its role as a strategic partner for ambitious business leaders who are committed to driving business transformation enabled by cutting-edge digital solutions, including AI. NeXec is determined to bring business and IT together, and this appointment marks a step in that direction.
Matti has extensive experience in the software business, leading enterprise transformations, and driving data and AI initiatives way before it appeared on everyone’s agenda. His experience ranges from beginning his career as a software developer and quickly advancing to leading product development in a globally operating tech company, and building businesses in Nordic consulting companies.
“The most interesting and rewarding part of business is when you get to build something from nothing. Especially when the situation is all fuzzy, and success requires focused execution amidst chaos”, he says.
In addition to the clients, it’s the people that make NeXec truly special. One of the first things Matti noticed upon joining was the exceptional quality of the NeXec consulting community.
“We have a house full of entrepreneurs who are immensely experienced and at the peak of their careers. Being surrounded by such people and learning from them is truly inspiring.”
When you discuss with any professional who has an impressive background on business transformations, technology and AI, it’s impossible to ignore the current GenAI hype. Matti strikes a balance – he is both down-to-earth and still massively optimistic about its potential.
“The tech industry has always been all about information. While the fundamentals remain the same, enterprises are going through a renaissance. The recent GenAI boom is simply the next chapter in a long-running trend of rapid technology innovation and scaling.
We are now evolving from transparent data-driven organisations to the next level: More personalized, more efficient, way more intelligent and definitely faster - more impressive in every possible way.
For us leading consultants, this creates new opportunities and challenges. It’s no longer enough to understand tech, people and processes. We need to understand our clients’ businesses even better than before.”
